FAQ's

What’s the best material to burn?

For optimal performance, always use seasoned hardwood with a moisture content of less than 20%. Avoid burning softwoods such as willow or Leylandii, as they produce excess smoke and residue.

No, you don’t need to register it yourself. We take care of the registration, and your HETAS certificate will be sent to you by post within 2–3 weeks after installation.

What’s the best way to clean my stove glass?

A simple and effective method is to use cooled wood ash. Apply a small amount to a damp cloth and gently clean the glass, then wipe with a clean cloth for a clear finish.

How often do I need to get my chimney swept?

It’s recommended to have your chimney swept at least once a year. If you use your stove frequently, more regular sweeping may be required to maintain safety and efficiency.

What is the difference between electric, gas & wood-burning stoves?

  • Electric stoves are easy to install, low maintenance, and ideal for homes without a chimney.
  • Gas stoves provide instant heat and convenience with a real flame effect, but require a gas connection.
  • Wood-burning stoves offer a traditional look and feel, high heat output, and lower running costs, but require fuel storage and regular maintenance.
